Our journey to the INME Skandagiri campus began before sunrise, filled with quiet excitement and anticipation. Over five days in the hills of Karnataka, we experienced adventure, responsibility and personal growth through a range of outdoor activities.
From trekking and camping to rock climbing, rappelling and tree-jumaring, each activity challenged us physically and mentally. Divided into two groups, we learnt important life skills by cooking our own meals, washing our utensils, setting up tents, and following the principle of “Leave No Trace”. Trust-based activities, group reflections, and night outs under the open sky helped us build confidence in oneself and deepened friendships.
There were moments that remain especially vivid: the sky painted in shades of orange and pink at sunset, the sharp mountain air at dawn and the sense of calm while climbing a rock’s face. Evenings spent reflecting and writing wonderful impressionistic pieces, performing during talent night and sharing laughter brought us closer collectively as a group.
As we packed to leave, it felt heavier than arriving. Skandagiri did not just test our strength; it helped shape our resilience, independence, as well as teamwork. This trip was not just a journey in the hills, but a journey within ourselves, an experience that will stay with us long after we return home!
