Independence Day

Independence Day celebration at MHSI

On the 15th of August, Modern High School International celebrated India’s 78th Independence Day with a series of poignant and patriotic events that captured the essence of our nation’s rich history and the enduring spirit of freedom. The programme, attended by students, faculty, and staff, was a fitting tribute to the sacrifices made by our great leaders and the unyielding determination of the Indian people.

The event commenced with the solemn flag hoisting ceremony, led by our esteemed Principal, followed by the resounding echoes of the national anthem, which filled every heart with pride and reverence. This was followed by a series of performances that reflected the cultural diversity and patriotic fervor that define our nation. A respectful dance performance by our talented students brought to life the vibrant cultural heritage of India, while a soul-stirring musical rendition by our middle school choir paid homage to the spirit of unity and freedom.

The highlight of the programme was a powerful drama showcasing the struggles and triumphs of India’s freedom movement, vividly portraying the courage and sacrifices of our freedom fighters. As a unique addition to the event, students participated in live art, creating striking portraits of three great freedom fighters, which served as a visual reminder of the heroes who shaped our nation’s destiny. The atmosphere was further enriched by evocative recitations in Hindi and Bengali, which stirred a deep sense of nationalism among all present.

The Principal’s address added a touch of wisdom and reflection to the programme, as she encouraged the students to cherish and uphold the values of freedom, unity, and integrity. The programme concluded with the entire assembly joining together for the national anthem, a fitting end to a day of remembrance and celebration.

Through this programme, Modern High School International not only honored the legacy of our great nation but also inspired the younger generation to carry forward the torch of freedom with pride and responsibility.
