When symbols speak, what do they say to us today?
This Independence Day, our students took to the “streets”—not simply to celebrate freedom, but to question it. Through street plays, they explored the changing meanings of powerful symbols: the sword, the charkha, the pen, and even the skull and crossbones.
From resistance and self-reliance to knowledge, power and protest, they asked us to look beyond the familiar and see these symbols through a contemporary lens
Because perhaps the most meaningful way to celebrate independence is not just to remember the past, but to look at it with new eyes and ask what it means for us now.
Our students didn’t just perform history. They opened a conversation with the present.
