Visit to Chhaya Animal Shelter

On December 4, 2024, Grade 12 students from Modern High School International visited Chhaya Animal Shelter as part of their community outreach initiative. The shelter, known for its compassionate care for injured, sick, and abandoned animals, provides refuge to a wide range of species, including dogs, cats, cows, horses, sheep, and even monkeys. To support the shelter’s noble mission, the students organized a donation drive, contributing funds that will be used by Chhaya to purchase hay to feed the animals throughout the year.

The visit was not only an opportunity to extend help but also a deeply educational experience for the students. They witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by the shelter and the dedication required to care for animals in need. The students interacted with the shelter staff, who shared stories of the animals’ resilience and recovery, leaving a lasting impression on everyone. Observing the shelter’s operations highlighted the importance of empathy, resourcefulness, and community support in creating a better world for all living beings.

This meaningful experience left the students with a profound sense of gratitude and a renewed commitment to social responsibility. They reflected on the impact of small actions in bringing about significant change and expressed a desire to stay connected with the shelter’s mission. Their visit to Chhaya Animal Shelter was not only an act of service but also a step toward fostering kindness and compassion in their daily lives.
