Avsar Akshar Math Fest
AVSAR: MATHEMAGICA 2024
The inaugural ceremony of Avsar: Mathemagica, held on November 11, 2024, set the tone for an exhilarating two-day math extravaganza. Distinguished guests, Mr. Gerry Arathoon, former Chief Executive and Secretary of CISCE, and Mr. Prodipta Hoore, Program Director of Aditya Birla Education Academy, graced the occasion, lighting the ceremonial lamp to mark the commencement of the event.
Representatives from participating schools lit candles, which were floated in water, extending a warm welcome to all. Students from Akshar presented a Sanskrit song and performed a skit as a part of the opening ceremony. The encouraging words by Mr. Hoore and Akshar’s principal Ms. Khullar inspired us to learn and explore in these two days.
Our school’s participants rose to the challenge, showcasing their mathematical prowess in the intense quiz event and demonstrating teamwork and creativity through their traditional Shola Art thematic display. We also participated in events that were collaborative opening doors for us to communicate and interact with students from different schools. These events were like classes teaching us a new concept through fun activities.
Soon Day 2 began with the senior quiz, which left the audience in awe of the participants’ exceptional talent and energy. Engaging collaborative events, like Soaring Kites and Spin a Spiral, provided us with a unique platform to explore mathematics through interactive activities, honing our critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration skills. Feedback on game designing events gave us an insight into Learning by Doing and how games can teach us while being enjoyable.
These two days have given us many valuable experiences, we have gained exposure, interacted with individuals from different schools and have learnt together. We are glad to have been a part of such an exciting fest and would like to extend our gratitude to the school for giving us this opportunity.
